As if there were some shortage of great places to grab a cocktail in Midtown, here’s another that’s sure to delight more than a few. The Flatiron Room, known to the rest of us as the old La Pomme nightclub has reinvented itself once again and transformed into a music venue lounge earlier this month. If you’re a whiskey lover, consider this an early birthday present: the Flatiron Room has over 500 of them in stock. The renowned Miguel Aranda is the principal bartender, and he’s created a set of distinguished cocktails that will impress even the most discerning drinkers.
The food menu features delicacies like Scotch eggs and roasted bone marrow, but will also include some tamer plates like oysters and braised short ribs. As if that weren’t enough, the bar plans to host whiskey tasting classes upstairs. Don’t show up for lunch—the Flatiron Room doesn’t open until 5 p.m., but they’re open until 2 a.m. anyway so there’s no rush.
