Jay-Z and Coldplay have confirmed plans to once again play New Year’s Eve. They’ll be playing in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center to bring 2013 in with style. The rapper, who is the director of the organization that owns the newly opened theatre, broke the news to his fans through his Life and Times site. Coldplay did the same on their own website.
This concert will be the second time in the past two years that the artists will share a stage to celebrate the new year, but that’s not even the end of the list. Coldplay also performed with Jay-Z in London this year for the Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony, which points to a musical alliance of sorts that may last for years to come.
Coldplay is also performing at Barclays Center on December 30 with Naturally 7. These dates are the first that Coldplay has scheduled in New York City since 2005, which is sure to make a lot of fans very happy. Having already played 8 sold-out shows at the arena this year.
Tickets for the shows are on sale November 17, so be ready to buy quickly—they’re definitely going to sell out.
